TEACHER CONFERENCE IN TALLINN 07.11.2017

Every year there is a Teacher Conference for all Tallinn kindergarten teachers. It is for sharing good practices and projects. There can take part one teacher from every kindergarten (there is 126 municipal kindergartens + privet kindergartens). It is very popular, because of the things they share and you can gather ideas for your own kindergarten.

This year it was called "Happy kindergarten day" and there was 21 presentations. Among them also us!! Me, Helina, and Ingrid where the ones to tell about our project. Our presentation started with Romanian traditional story "The name of Tachirghiol". When Ingrid read the story then I showed pictures that children have made and pictures of activities. After the story I told about the overall project - our objectives, activities. And also about transnational meetings. Hopefully we get also more people to view our blog!

Biannual pedagogical meeting of teachers of preschool education - Gymnasium School Trifesti, Iasi, Romania

          At the pedagogical meeting, National College "Garabet Ibraileanu", Pre-primary no 10, sustained presentation "Visible learning - Steps towards authentic learning through European Projects E+ - "From the forest to the sea!".
         The meeting was attended by teachers from Iasi. Romania- urban and rural area, who were interested to find out about our project activities, our teaching methods and also about educational systems from other European countries.

Seminar "Romanian projects and achievements with European perspective", 2nd edition

Our team presented the project "From the forest to the sea" to 80 teachers and headteachers who attended the seminar organised by CCD "Spiru Haret" Iasi, Romania and National College "Garabet Ibraileanu" Iasi, Romania.

Biannual meeting of teachers of preschool education - Debate on lateral thinking

At local biannual meeting of teachers of preschool education our team presented the ways of developing lateral thinking through inquiry based teaching and learning.
The meeting was attended by 40 teachers from Iasi Romania.

SEMINAR FOR TEACHERS ABOUT INQUIRY-BASED TEACHING IN PIRITA KINDERGARTEN

On 3rd of November 2016 all 12 Pirita Kidergarten teachers, director's assistant on the field of education and 14 teachers from other Tallinn's kindergartens took part of inquiry-based teaching seminar. The seminar was conducted by Estonian Associacion of Inquiry-based Learning instructors. On this seminar teachers learned about one active learning method which program was thought out in USA and adjusted to our system through Innove funded project POLLEN. This program is systematic, structured and directed so that children have the ability to get new knowledge through researching and to come to conclusions him/herself. The program can be used with children starting the age of 5 years. By that time the children have the vocabulary, ability to make group work and work on their own and their thinking has developed enough to be able to make logical connections. This program has activities in 5 themes: discover the senses; discover weather; discover comparison and measurement; discover the colors; and discover liquids. On this seminar the teachers were taught how to use theme "Discover senses (seeing, touching, hearing, smelling, tasting)" in their everyday work with children. They were given examples of activitis, how to connect this to our curriculum and also teachers book with the program.
In Pirita Kindergarten two groups are testing the program in this schoolyear: group Sinilill discover senses and group Rukkilill discover senses and discover weather.
